On Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 11:00am, the Rev. O’Neal Dozier, and other prominent Pro-Life persons will hold a News/Press Conference to urge the Miami-Dade State Prosecutor to elevate the criminal charges against Belkis Gonzalez.  Belkis Gonzalez, the owner of a Hialeah abortion business, will go on trial Friday, October 9, 2009 for minor felony charges related to the gruesome death of a newborn, Shanice Osbourne.

In July 2006, Shanice Osbourne, a black baby, was born alive during an abortion, according to witnesses who observed her breathing and moving.  Witnesses claimed that there was no doctor present and Belkis Gonzalez, without clamping the umbilical cord, swept the baby into a bio-hazard bag and later hid the baby on the roof so the police could not find it.

“When Belkis Gonzalez decided not to call 911, when she decided instead not to clamp the cord so Shanice would bleed to death, when she decided to stuff Shanice into a bag so she would suffocate, that was cold blooded murder and Gonzalez must be held accountable with homicide, not minor charges,” said Rev. O’Neal Dozier, a prominent black leader and pastor of The Worldwide Christian Center Church in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Instead of filing homicide charges, Miami-Dade State Prosecutor, Katherine Rundel, filed violations against Gonzalez for “tampering with physical evidence” and “failure to hold a medical license.”  “We are urging this prosecutor to elevate her charges to murder, which is indeed the proper charge,” stated Reverend Dozier.
