“The Jackson Lab ‘deal’ is perceived by many as an orchestrated bailout of Tom Monaghan and Barron Collier’s own real estate petri dish– Ave Maria Town.”
Undoubtedly, the basic reason why so many people believe the claims being made by “genetic and personalized medicine” experts is that a prevention can and must be found for all diseases and abnormalities.  As if we could live forever– not according to a divine plan– but according to the rules of scientific materialism.

The narrative coming from not a few in the field of genetics is that anyone who opposes their scientific efforts to explore and experiment with life, is just plain misguided and irrational.  Accordingly, any doubts expressed about genetics and “personalized medicine”  is disbelieved a priori, as an attempt to hold back scientific advancement.

What does this PETRI DISH have in common with AVE MARIA TOWN?

The battle is raging in Collier County,  over the proposed use of taxpayer’s money to bring The Jackson Lab to Ave Maria. The Jackson Lab is a facility with a dark past in Eugenics, and an active involvement in “workshops” and “resources” for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research.

The public poll being conducted by the Naples Daily News continues to increase in numbers, indicating that 84% are opposed to any taxpayer funding of The Jackson Lab.  The Jackson Lab “deal” is perceived by many as an orchestrated bailout of Tom Monaghan and Barron Collier’s own real estate petri dish– Ave Maria Town.

Bryan Hanypsiak MD, is Director of Medical Education at Arthrex, Inc.  Arthrex is an international firm based in  Naples, and a leading provider of medical instruments for arthroscopic surgery.

On the subject of The Jackson Lab’s proposed move to Ave Maria, Dr. Hanypsiak wrote:

Jackson Lab officials did not identify Naples because of the cheap land or the Ave Maria University campus.

They could get that deal anywhere. They are not going to establish a medical school at Ave Maria; you need major health-care systems located on campus to do that. They came to take advantage of our affluent community members, conning them into thinking that the research they do today will save them from the diseases that killed their parents.”
