Doing business with the Devil
“… how can the international community do business for more than 50 years with Castro’s communist pro-terrorism regime? Cuba has supported the most violent Islamic terrorists in the world, and until Obama’s recent “diplomacy,” Cuba was listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the State Dept., in Washington DC. Specifically, the State Department determined that Cuba had “repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism”– along with Iran, Syria and Sudan.
In 1961, when the United States severed diplomatic ties with Cuba under Castro’s Communist regime, other countries ran towards Havana to embrace the band of murderous bearded Marxists who had taken over the island nation.
This friendly relationship with Castro’s communist dictatorship has continued to this day– and has included active trade, tourism, every hypocritical “cultural and educational” exchange program known to man– as well as helping Castro develop manufacturing sectors, such as the citrus and construction industries. The international community has lined its pockets and shamelessly provided Cuba’s regime all the wealth needed, so that its communist military dictatorship can continue the oppression and persecution of its people– with no end in sight.
The world has stood silent, while Cubans have been terrorized, tortured and executed– and thousands have drowned in the cemetery called the Strait of Florida, trying to escape their island prison. Adding insult to injury, the majority, if not all of these countries have been cutting business deals with Castro while farcically claiming that they support democracy. The plight of the Cuban people has been chronicled for nearly 60 years– and includes one of the highest rates of abortion in the world, sexual tourism and human trafficking.
There isn’t a single country in the world that I can name today which does not have the blood of the Cuban people on their hands– by having brought business and support to the despotic Marxist regime in Havana.
But ask yourselves– why is it that the international community, which rallied in support of an economic boycott of the South African government, in order to end Apartheid, refuses to do the same in order to end the suffering of the Cuban people– under a communist military dictatorship which has denied them free elections for almost 57 years?
Furthermore, how can the international community do business for more than 50 years with Castro’s communist pro-terrorism regime? Cuba has supported the most violent Islamic terrorists in the world, and until Obama’s recent “diplomacy,” Cuba was listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the State Dept., in Washington DC. Specifically, the State Department determined that Cuba had “repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism”– along with Iran, Syria and Sudan.
Now many of these countries who have helped Castro are facing acts of violence at the hands of terrorists– a violence which I have denounced repeatedly. But when it comes to Cuba and the terrorism suffered by the Cuban people for nearly 60 years, they have done nothing but remain silent, or at best given lip service to the Cuban cause for freedom.
The consequence of truth is that it reveals facts that can make some people uncomfortable. So, as you read this commentary it should come as no surprise that the many speeches which I delivered during my campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2012 (on the ballot, Florida) included my exhortation that the American people needed to stand “on the side of the angels“– an exhortation which some were not willing to hear, because it requires an authentic moral stand.
I also promised those present at my campaign events that I would not “take any prisoners“– as a symbolic expression of assurance that I would not compromise my principles. This bold and politically-incorrect approach brought me support from many Republicans and Democrats, in spite of the fact that neither side fully agreed with my solid and authentic Republican conservative platform— but their support was based on the fact that they knew I would always speak the truth.
As the end of 2015 approaches, I continue to stand on the side of the angels, while the world spins out of control.
Through my eyes, as a Cuban who survived the ravages of Castro’s communist persecution while the world remained indifferent, I can say that what is happening to many of these countries facing terrorist attacks, whose leaders have been doing business with the Devil, can be summed up, tragically, in three words:
EVIL BEGETS EVIL.
May God have mercy on the innocent victims of terrorism in countries whose leaders have been doing business with Cuba’s evil communist pro-terrorism dictatorship— and may God have mercy on the Cuban people.
Someone has to say the truth…
